Meeting Mariah Carey
Scott spent the morning preparing listeners for his full interview with Mariah Carey and the answer to the question everybody had asked him: what was she really like?
He described receiving the complete Mariah experience, including a small wind machine that kept her hair moving naturally during the interview.
Mariah discussed her career, the songs and eras she remained happy to revisit and the subjects she preferred to leave behind.
Scott approached the conversation as both a long-time fan and a presenter aware of the mythology surrounding her public image.
The interview allowed Mariah to be funny, guarded and reflective in different moments rather than reducing her to the familiar “diva” label.
CombineCam and BBC Farmwatch
After 9am, Scott launched CombineCam for the 2025 harvest.
Farmers and listeners were invited to send photographs and videos from combine harvesters around the country, allowing the programme to follow conditions and progress through the summer.
The feature connected the breakfast programme with BBC Farmwatch and turned agricultural machinery into another recurring visual story.
