15 October 2025: Spoiler chaos, sourdough bears and Ed Gamble

The text that summed it up: “Sourdough bears, spoilers, and a chicken impression before 9am. Peak Radio 2.”

“If you haven’t seen Titanic yet, that’s on you.” – Scott Mills
“Sourdough tiger bears? What are you cooking, Scott?” – Tina Daheley
“There are two types of people: those who hold back in the quiz, and those who give full chicken.” – Scott Mills

The spoiler police are back 🚨

Scott kicked off Wednesday’s show with a return to the spoiler debate. After last week’s “no spoilers” verdict from listeners, he decided to push the boundaries again – reading out five classic TV and film endings live on air. “In Titanic, the boat sinks,” he declared, before adding: “If you’re angry about history spoilers, that’s on you.”

Tina groaned as he revealed The Sixth Sense twist and the Dallas shooter. The texts poured in instantly — some fuming, others laughing. One listener said she’d been “drying her hair at the time” and missed every spoiler. Another joked: “Thanks, Scott, you’ve just ruined 1981 for me.”

Weakest Link fame and a new chaser?

In between songs, Scott discovered he’d been a question on The Weakest Link: “Which broadcaster succeeded Zoe Ball as Radio 2’s breakfast host?” He proudly replayed the clip — before realising the contestant passed. “I’ve been humbled back in my box,” he sighed.

Then came talk of The Chase, with rumours of a masked new chaser joining the line-up. Scott and Tina imagined Radio 2 colleagues in the roles: “Trevor Nelson as The Menace?” “Kwiz, are you The Shark?” It spiralled into pure chaos.

Sally from Sheffield steals the show 🐔

The Easiest Quiz on the Radio was anything but easy for Sally from Sheffield, who’d previously won a Popworld dance-off judged by drag queen Baga Chipz. Her quiz answers became instant classics. Asked for “types of bread,” she blurted “bears!” — earning laughter from everyone in the studio.

She redeemed herself with a flawless “sleeping bag” answer under pressure, and Scott let her off with: “In this quiz, that’s absolutely acceptable.” When asked to do a chicken impression, she went full farmyard. “There are two types of people,” Scott said, “those who hold back and those who give full chicken.”

The traitors takeover with Ed Gamble 🕵️‍♂️

By 8:30, the studio went full Traitors mode. Comedian Ed Gamble joined to discuss his BBC Two show, Traitors: Uncloaked, bringing live spoilers safely censored by Big Brother’s 2003 bird noise. “We’ve borrowed the bird song,” Scott explained. “If we slip up, you’ll hear the sparrows.”

Tina, now a self-confessed convert, asked Ed why celebs were more ruthless than civilians. His theory: “Celebs are used to lying for a living — it’s their job!” The trio joked about Claudia Winkleman’s dramatic footsteps (“extra loud boots!”) and whether the contestants really eat their breakfast. Ed revealed: “Some of them have already eaten in their lodgings — Joe Marler could eat the whole table.”

Listeners loved it, especially when Ed dodged every spoiler question with charm and mock secrecy. “You’ve answered everything and nothing,” said Scott.

Y2K fashion, Duolingo pop stars and wired headphone nostalgia 🎧

Earlier in the show, Tina confessed she’d switched back to wired headphones, prompting Scott to declare them “the new Y2K statement piece.” They then celebrated Dua Lipa’s Spanish GCSE, leading to a full-on “Pop Stars Who Went Multilingual” segment.

Scott played clips of Abba’s Gracias Por La Musica, Mariah Carey’s Hero en Español, and Blondie’s Llámame. He imagined Dua’s future Spanish album: “Maybe call it Donde Está La Biblioteca — that’s about our level.”

The morning chaos continues

Between segments, there were listener confessions galore: Sarah from Pontiates left her freezer open all night (“Start a full investigation!” Scott advised), and Catherine in Bracknell texted from her birthday trip to Barcelona to say she’d “seen the architecture and now wants to go to Zara.” Scott replied, “You and I are the same person on holiday.”

Final laughs before 9am

As Ed Gamble wrapped up, Scott teased the upcoming line-up: Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst for Thursday, followed by Mel C, Russell Tovey, and Peter Capaldi on Big Guest Friday. But the real chaos came when Genuine’s Pony accidentally played under the travel bulletin, leaving Scott and Tina howling: “Ellie Brennan’s a pro – she did travel over Pony!”

The text that summed it up: “Sourdough bears, spoilers, and a chicken impression before 9am. Peak Radio 2.”
