Chris’s Berlin “jet lag”
Chris claimed to have jet lag after a two-hour flight from Berlin. Scott pointed out that two consecutive nights ending at four or five in the morning were a more convincing explanation, but Chris preferred to imagine that he had crossed numerous time zones.
The stag-weekend details remained protected. Chris wrote an account and allowed Scott to cover the sensitive words with sound effects, producing a story full of suspicious gaps. He insisted that the weekend had been successful and that everybody had returned intact, even if he could no longer look at the groom in quite the same way.
Turn Around Justin
Justin Bieber posted a photograph of himself facing the sea with his bare bottom towards the camera. The studio initially noticed the blue water and scenery, but the image quickly became the only entertainment story anybody wanted to discuss.
Likes climbed from one million to more than two million during the programme. Most listeners approved, while Chris suggested Bieber needed squats and one critic simply recommended a tan. The hashtag “Turn Around Justin” began trending as people requested the missing front view, and Scott repeatedly refreshed the photograph to track its extraordinary reach.
The item also produced imitations and comparisons, including other celebrity images and a debate over whether Chris should recreate the pose. He declined to turn around for the programme.
More from Wimbledon
Emily returned with further detail from her work as a ball girl. Teams received their court assignment only around ten minutes before going on, and the remaining young people faced an emotional list-reading as numbers were reduced for the later rounds.
She described working with Venus Williams, who reminded another ball person to reply when she said thank you. Emily’s account made the job sound far more demanding than the ceremonial invitation Scott and some listeners had once imagined.
Boy Bruce and a listener’s facts
A listener played Real or No Real. Bruce Forsyth really did begin as a child entertainer called “Boy Bruce, the Mighty Atom”, performing as a singer, dancer and accordion player. A second fact about a French king spraying liquid through his nose after dental treatment was also true, leading an actual dentist to explain how a connection between the mouth and sinus could still cause similar problems.
The claim that Chris’s mum had joined Snapchat was invented, to his considerable relief. Breakfast ended with Bieber still refusing to turn around and Emily still surviving Wimbledon’s selection process.
