Scott returns with airborne mash
Scott returns from holiday looking suspiciously refreshed, although he insists nothing has been altered. His principal discovery is much less glamorous: mashed potato mixed with gravy tastes completely different on an aeroplane, and he now considers the strange in-flight mush one of the highlights of the trip.
He also recognises a very posh former Apprentice candidate on the flight without remembering his name. Hours of searching finally identify the man as Raj Dhonota, allowing Scott to complete the silent exchange of recognition that began near the aircraft toilets.
Rinder reaches another week
Judge Rinder survives week seven of Strictly Come Dancing with Oksana Platero. The schedule has become so demanding that they recently ate at a fried-chicken shop at one in the morning, but he remains delighted that he accepted the challenge.
Chris then reveals an extraordinary television booking of his own: he is appearing on Celebrity Mastermind. Scott warns him about the silent walk to the black chair, the loud music and the need to choose a specialist subject he knows well without caring so much that nerves destroy him. Chris is already imagining a black roll-neck and a Tom Cruise-style celebration if he wins.
Two extremely cautious Snapchatters
After months of discussing Snapchat, both presenters finally have accounts. Scott wants his first post to be sufficiently epic, while Chris has technically joined but has not posted anything. Their greatest fear is sending an intimate message to a public story by mistake.
Scott considers using the furry mug Chris gave him as last year’s very late Christmas present. Chris’s water-damaged phone then begins taking snaps by itself, making their move onto the platform even less reassuring. Dev joins Real or No Real, where mulled-wine scented toilet roll and an algorithm for detecting drunken tweets feel worryingly appropriate.
