Scott Mills is getting involved with a new project for Comic Relief next month meaning that Sara Cox will be taking the reigns of the afternoon show in February. There's no news as to what Scott is up to for Comic Relief but we do know that Sara will present the show in the week beginning Monday 18th February 2011. BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra are working on a new special event for 2012 set to be based in London around the time of the Olympic games. The outdoor festival is being spearheaded by Jason Carter, who has been working behind the scenes on BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend over the past few years. The artist behind the album 19 and the future hit album 21 will be performing in a special Live Lounge for BBC Radio 1 this month. Live Lounge 'XL' isn't a dig about Adele's weight - it's the name of a special extra long Live Lounge which will feature 30 minutes of live tracks during Fearne's show. Radio 1's sister station BBC Radio 1Xtra has today launched its new daytime schedule which sees Trevor Nelson and Gemma Cairney go their seperate ways. Twin B now presents the breakfast show between 7am and 10am while Trevor Nelson hosts the 1Xtra Live Lounge on his show between 10am and 1pm. All of this week the specialist DJs will takeover BBC Radio 1 as part of an ambitious project promoting the presenters that usually come out at night. Zane Lowe is taking the breakfast show between 7am and 10am, Annie Mac will present Fearne's show between 10am and 1pm, and Huw Stephens will air between 1pm and 4pm. Nick Grimshaw will present Scott Mills' show between 4pm and 7pm. Unofficial Mills was very excited to hear Miranda Hart was to be on the show this week and she certainly didn't disappoint when she visited Scott Mills on Monday. She struggled with the Radio 1 chairs, she revealed there might be a third series of Miranda, sung along to Christmas songs and she shared with Scott some stories about Justin Bieber. The Sun reports today that Chris Moyles' on-air sidekick Comedy Dave will be Dancing On Ice in January 2011 on the ITV1 show. Dave will join Jeff Brazier, Kerry Katona, Angela Rippon, Denise Welch and Chloe Madeley when the programme returns on January 9th. Other 'celebrities' lined up for the programme include Dominic Cork, Sam Attwater and Elen Rivas.
