The Sun had reported that Chris Moyles would be removed from the Radio 1 Breakfast Show later in 2009.
Moyles opened his programme by saying the claim was untrue and explaining how he believed the story had developed.
He said Radio 1’s press office had told Gordon Smart there were no plans to remove him, but Smart ran the story anyway while citing unnamed sources.

Scott discussed a friend whose four-year relationship had ended after an 18-month engagement.
The breakup had moved from sadness into anger, and she was considering selling the engagement ring on a website devoted to jewellery and gifts from former partners.

Barack Obama trainers
Scott became excited by a pair of limited-edition trainers celebrating Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States.
One design featured Obama’s face on one shoe, his name on the other and stars-and-stripes decoration. A subtler pink-and-white version placed his name along the side.

The Shockingly Big Fact Hunt
Beccy revived the old Big Fact Hunt, in which listeners searched for an answer during the length of a song.
The new version added an electric dog-training collar around Scott’s neck.
The question was: “What is the name of my brother?” The correct answer was Wes.
After the song, the team froze the text screen and read the first ten messages. Scott received a shock every time somebody answered correctly.
