Controlling Beccy with old clips
With Beccy absent, Scott used stored clips of her voice as though she were still in the studio.
The fragments included Beccy saying she loved horses, praising somebody’s style, calling herself “the new Jerry Hall” and admitting that she did not own a fish slice.
Scott and Chappers enjoyed being able to trigger her responses whenever they wanted, although the artificial conversation quickly became nonsensical.

The new line-up trail
The archive contains a comedy trail for Radio 1’s revised daytime schedule.
An announcer began by saying that one man would join a line-up of legends, but colleagues repeatedly interrupted because Fearne Cotton and Greg James also needed to be included.
The wording was continually rewritten from “one man” to “one man and one woman” and then “two men and one woman”.

The panna cotta story
Sara Cox was covering the programme and repeatedly teased a major story about panna cotta.
Listeners, including Jono from Unofficial Mills, asked when they would finally hear it. Chappers arrived worried that he had already missed the important revelation.
The actual story was simply that Sara had become obsessed with panna cotta and intended to make one after buying gelatine leaves.

Mark Chapman was due to provide the sport at the end of Newsbeat but did not appear.
Scott initially hoped Chappers would run into the studio before the bulletin finished. When that failed, the team tried to improvise.
They mentioned Chelsea being banned from signing players, assumed some cricket was probably taking place and offered the fact that one person had played goalkeeper in school netball.

Scott played examples of Radio 1 presenters making mistakes immediately before Newsbeat.
He said these moments often entertained people in the office even though they would not normally be replayed on air.
Casualty became tangled while attempting to introduce political reporter Reeta Chakrabarti and eventually abandoned the sentence with an apology.
Colin Murray also stumbled over a presenter or reporter’s name during his handover.

Jono’s 21st birthday
Scott wished Jono from Unofficial Mills a happy 21st birthday.
He said he had remembered the occasion and sent a card, but Beccy immediately challenged that version of events. She had bought the card, given it to Scott and effectively placed the pen in his hand so he could sign it.

Radio Cymru reaction
Chris Moyles discussed the continuing Welsh-language broadcast experiment.
He said English-speaking listeners had remained with the second programme much longer than on the first night.
People on Twitter were still reporting isolated English words more than an hour into the show.
Moyles said the programme functioned in two completely different ways: as an ordinary radio show for Welsh speakers and as unusual entertainment for those who could not understand it.

Beccy’s stylist prank
Beccy attempted another prank call after Scott and Chappers had discussed suits and professional styling.
She phoned Joe Cole pretending to be a stylist called Barbara Windsor, supposedly recommended by Danny Howard.
Her accent and opening explanation were so difficult to understand that Joe repeatedly asked her to start again.
Beccy told him he was “totally a summer” and should wear pastel colours including baby blue, pink and mint.
